A book entitled "The story of an athlete : a picture of the past" by H. C. A. Harrison, the father of the Australian game of football. Published by Alexander Mc Cubbin, Melbourne, 1923. The volume includes some photographs of members of the Wills and Harrison families, as well as a group shot taken on the M.C.C. Ground at the Football Jubilee Carnival, 1908.

Born at Picton in New South Wales on October 16th, 1836, Harrison started work at the Customs Department in Melbourne in 1853. His first known involvement in a football match was as captain of Melbourne in a scratch match in September 1861. After transferring to the Geelong Customs Office and captaining Geelong in 1862, he returned to Melbourne and was club captain until he retired as a player in 1872.
